Louise was admitted to practise as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in February 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University.
Doyle's Guide recognised Louise as a Rising Star in family law in the Australian legal market for 2018.
Louise joined Pearson Emerson Meyer after working as a Legal Associate to Justice Aldridge and Justice Stevenson in the Family Court of Australia. During her time working at the Family Court, Louise gained a unique perspective as to how disputes are resolved and a practical understanding as to how to communicate effectively with the Court. Louise's experience working with two Judges, at first instance and appellate level, has given her an understanding of a broad range of family law issues.
Prior to specialising in family law, Louise worked as a solicitor at an international commercial law firm in Sydney. During this time Louise worked in litigation. Her time as a solicitor in a commercial law firm has helped Louise to develop a practical and cost effective approach to family law matters.
Louise is the co-author of the chapter on Australian family law in "Family Law – a Global Guide" 4th edition published by Thomson Reuters, an industry internationally recognised and distributed book on international family law. More recently, Louise has been invited to contribute the chapter on Australian family law to the third edition of “Family Law and Practice in Hong Kong” published by Sweet & Maxwell. Louise has also been invited to contribute towards the Australian Chapter within the 2019 edition of “The International Comparative Legal Guide to Family Law".
Louise is responsible for a wide range of family law issues for our clients including separation and divorce, parenting disputes and arrangements, property settlements, and de facto relationship breakdowns.
